WHAT DOES GHP MEAN TO YOU?
This video was a collaboration between the Broadcast Managing Editor, Karla Dougan, and I. While Karla edited the video together on Final Cut Pro, I did all of the legwork for this video. I interviewed former GHP students and compiled the confessionals and photos used in the video.
JIM MCKAY FILM FESTIVAL
While Nicholas Byrne, the Broadcast Managing Editor at the time, edited and filmed this vidoe on the Jim McKay film festival, I conducted and set up most of the interviews and wrote the script. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted famed R.E.M. front man Micheal Stipe in the audience of Jim McKay's panel at the University of Georgia. I decided to approach him and conduct an impromptu interview. Once the video was published, it was tweeted out on the official R.E.M. Twitter account.
COTA STATE TENNIS TOURNAMENT
I was assigned to cover the United States Tennis Association Georgia 40 & Over State Championship Tournament with a quick turnaround time. It was a great test of my confidence as a journalist, as I had to conduct on the spot, unplanned interviews with every source in the story.

SOCCER BEAT
The spring semester of my junior year I was assigned boys soccer as my beat assignment. I first I wasn't very happy because I had never really covered sports before. The beat, however, turned out to be an awesome oppurtunity to push myself and build connections with faculty and students I had never interacted with before.
